From Fear to Freedom: How I Started Trading

I didn’t start trading with confidence.

I started with fear.

Fear of failing.

Fear of losing money.

Fear of looking foolish.

Fear that maybe trading was only for “those people” — the ones with thousands in their accounts, finance degrees, or connections on Wall Street.

That wasn’t me.

When I first heard about trading, I truly thought it was only for the rich.

But over time, I discovered something else:

Trading isn’t just for the wealthy — it’s for the willing.

The ones willing to learn, show up, and grow.

I didn’t start with certainty. I started with a whisper in my spirit:

“What if this is the path God will use to set me free?”

😰 My First Steps Were Uncertain and Humbling

I didn’t understand what I was doing at first.

The charts looked like chaos.

Support? Resistance? Breakers? Drawdowns? I had no clue.

But I kept showing up:

Watching beginner YouTube videos while my kids napped

Practicing on demo accounts

Drawing lines I wasn’t sure were right

Taking notes, asking questions, trying again

And because I knew I couldn’t trust my emotions alone, I began to record my trades.

Not for others — but for myself.

My trading journal became my mirror. It reflected my habits, my fears, my impatience, and my growth. And over time, I could see God shaping both the trader and the woman in me.

🔁 What Changed Everything

The turning point came when I stopped chasing signals and started learning to read the market for myself.

I decided to:

Study one strategy — Breakthrough & Retest

Practice like it was real, even on demo

Review my own behavior and decision-making

Trade with structure instead of emotion

And most importantly, I invited God into the process.

Each morning, I’d whisper:

“Lord, help me see clearly today. Help me wait. Help me follow wisdom, not anxiety.”

🙌 The Result: Real, Lasting Freedom

Trading eventually became more than just an income stream — it became a tool for transformation. I gained:

Confidence in my ability to learn

Peace under pressure

Joy in progress — not just profit

And the steps I took — the ones that started in fear and faith — have now brought me to a place I never imagined:

I stopped surviving and started surrendering.

I stopped hiding and started healing.

I stopped hustling for approval and started walking in purpose.

I’m not proving — I’m becoming.

This is freedom. And I finally feel it.
