There was a time I felt guilty for wanting more.
More income.
More peace of mind.
More options for my children.
More freedom with my time.
As a Christian, I wrestled with the idea: “Is this selfish? Am I being materialistic? Shouldn’t I just be content?”
If you’ve ever asked those questions, you’re not alone. And today, I want to encourage you with this truth: wanting more is not wrong — when your heart is in the right place.
Please note: I am not a financial advisor. This post is based on personal experience, scripture, and spiritual conviction. It’s here to help you make faith-led financial decisions with peace and purpose.
😔 The Conflict Many Believers Face
We’ve been told things like:
“Money is the root of all evil”
“Just be content with what you have”
“Prosperity and holiness don’t mix”
But those statements are often misunderstood or incomplete.
📖 The Bible says: “The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil…” — 1 Timothy 6:10
It doesn’t say money itself is evil. It says that the wrong relationship with money is what leads us away from God.
🙌 So, Is It Okay to Want More?
Yes — when the desire is driven by purpose.
It’s okay to want:
To be debt-free
To send your kids to school without stress
To care for your aging parents
To give more to causes you believe in
To fund ministries, help widows, support missionaries, and build churches
That’s not greed — that’s godly vision.
💭 What Shifted in My Life
I used to believe success had to be loud and complicated. I thought I had to hustle all day just to survive.
But over time, as I started simple businesses like:
Print-on-Demand stores
Amazon KDP books
Digital products and freelance services
Learning how to trade in a disciplined and structured way
…I began to grow — one faithful step at a time.
Eventually, I was able to reinvest what I made into learning, tools, coaching, and mentorship. And now?
Now I make money while I sleep.
While I’m traveling.
While I’m playing and laughing with my children.
While I’m resting and worshiping.
But more importantly, now I have the freedom to give generously:
I can pay school fees for children in need
I help build churches and support the Kingdom
I sow into the lives of widows, ministers, and struggling families
And I give with joy — because I know what it’s like to have nothing.
📖 God Isn’t Against Wealth — He Just Wants to Be First
“But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” — Matthew 6:33
“Remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you the power to get wealth.” — Deuteronomy 8:18
Wealth with no wisdom leads to destruction.
But wealth with God at the center leads to impact, peace, and provision — not just for you, but for everyone He’s called you to bless.
✅ How You Can Start Walking in Financial Purpose
Here’s how I started — and how you can too:
Pray: Ask God to search your heart and purify your motives
Start small: Use what you already know (design, writing, teaching, etc.)
Explore free or low-cost income options: Print-on-Demand, KDP, digital products, or freelancing
Stay generous: Even when your income is small, give with joy
Follow peace: Don’t chase the crowd — follow what brings clarity and calm

💬 Final Encouragement
Wanting more doesn’t make you less holy — it makes you honest.
The key is what you do with the more.
Let go of guilt.
Ask God for vision.
Build with intention.
Give with freedom.
And trust that He wants to bless you — so you can bless others.
